With Australian energy retailers charging the highest grid power prices in the world, one company is stepping up to make renewable energy affordable.

ShineHub co-founder Alex Georgiou said that his company will mean Australians can make the switch to solar and slash their electricity bill. 

“What we do is we run solar and battery bulk buys to dramatically bring down the costs of these systems to the point where even on a pay-as-you-go plan, you’re able to get solar and battery power for cheaper than grid power in a lot of cases,” he told Your Money Live.

Once you’ve hooked up the system, you’ll be able to share electricity with other users.

“The energy system is not fair, it’s controlled by a few companies and I want to shift that to individuals and communities,” he explained.
